The high tech Cool Top formula is suitable for asphaltic surfaces as it bonds exceptionally well and resists browning, staying white while standing up to ponding water which is common to most flat roofs. Use Cool Top on Flat or Sloped Asphalt, Asphalt Shingles, Modified Bitumen Roofs whether smooth surfaced or granulated and primed metal or weathered galvanized roofs.

You get great durability and beauty while the bright white (“non-browning”) finish reflects the suns heat, dramatically lowering the temperature of the roof compared to typical aluminum pigmented asphalt coatings.

Hot roofs are expensive! During the summer months, typical metal roofs or asphalt roofs can heat up to 150° or more. This extreme heat causes higher air conditioning bills and actually deteriorates your roof quickly. After coating the roof with Cool Top, your roof temperature will be reduced to be within only a few degrees of air temperature and will preserve your roof by eliminating the radical contraction and expansion caused by high heat.

How It Works:

Contraction and expansion on your metal roof tears away at the fasteners and seams and causes leaks and premature roof failure. Cool Top helps your Metal Roof stay cooler so there is less contraction and expansion tearing at the seams and fasteners. You can eliminate any future roof replacement just by doing some simple roof maintenance and applying Cool Top. The hi-tech Cool Top formula bonds exceptionally well on primed metal roofs and resists browning on asphalt surfaces, staying white while standing up to puddling water which is common to most flat roofs.

Surface Preparation:

Surfaces must be clean and free of all loose or chalking paint, loose granules, and all biological growth and oxidation. Pressure wash to remove dirt, loose or chalking coatings, oxidation and biological growth. Prime bare or rusting metal with a suitable corrosion resistant metal primer.

Where To Use:

Cool Top can be applied to Asphalt & Metal Roofs by airless sprayer, brush or roller. Asphalt Roofs: Apply one coat at 100 sf per gallon or a two coat application at 200 square feet per gallon in each of two coats. Metal Roofs: Apply one coat at the rate of 150 to 175 sf per gallon on smooth metal roofs or 100 to 125 sf per gallon on corrugated metal roofs. This will give the best coverage and will result in the longest lasting results. Do not apply this coating to a wet surface, when rain or evening dew is imminent, or when surface temperature is or will be below 50°F. Wash spills and tools with soapy water.
